If they answer "Locksmith", they are probably not legitimate. Ask what their company name is.

Be aware of Google listings that have the same or similar  phone numbers that all ring to the same phone in New York for dispatching.

Watch for web sites that are similar with different names like A Locksmith, A-1 Locksmith, A-11 Locksmith, etc.

If you have a real emergency, call the Police first, and let them dispatch a legitimate locksmith.

If it is a real emergency, like a baby locked in a car, a legitimate locksmith will not charge for unlocking the car, as part of his or her Code of Ethics.
